Snowdrops in January

Snowdrops are so tough and yet seem so delicate. They cut through the hardest ground to get out and the hang so gently, enhancing all of the other life around them.

White gardenias by any other name

These subtle white petals and this particular shot, for some reason, remain one of my most liked image of all the 2.4K images we started with on this site. Cannot explain it - it just is so.

Wild Pink Roses in the rain.

The gentle shape these three wild pink roses made, together with the rain droplets, was like a sigh in the wind as they shifted slightly in the small breeze. They remind me of a happiness that never dies.

Sword Leaves dying

These dying leaves gave off soft subtle shades & hues of off-cream to browns in the even un-sunlit air towards the end of the day. Jobs almost all done. Soon to gift the soil around them for the next generation.

These must be derivatives of snowdrops because they thrive alongside them but have significant differences and only seem to feel safe in shady under-tree areas. Beautiful and delicate.

Big bold colours and strength in the leaves and stems as they start opening and demanding the light reaches them. Strong young things.

This solitary white and mauve veined crocus leaning out of the protection of the large log it's hidden next to till the sunlight starts to draw it out into the open. A brave young thing.

A Green Leaf in its' prime. The patina of shine and darker hues gives a thickness and power to this big leaf implying the same to all those around it. Turing light into energy as fast as it can.

Emerging buds, strong vine branches endlessly varied colours and the life-giving water droplets supplying everything with what it needs - as well as being works of art in motion.

Lush Green leaves

The sheen and weight of these lush green leaves in the middle of the day, with no real light shaping going on from the all over cloud still lent a sort of vibrant beauty to these leaves that made them irresitable to shoot.
